Blending classical artistry with cultural heritage, Abstract Divine Dance, led by renowned Kathak exponent Madhavi Bhattacharya, is set to organize a three-day immersive event titled “Carrying Tradition Forward” in Haridwar.

The initiative aims to revive and celebrate the essence of Kathak by connecting it with the historical and spiritual roots of the city. The event will bring together dance enthusiasts, students, and cultural connoisseurs for a unique experience of rhythm, tradition, and heritage.

As part of the schedule, a Kathak Workshop Showcase will be held on April 26 at Govind Ghat at 6:00 PM. The open-air presentation will highlight the intricate techniques of the Lucknow Gharana, performed against the serene backdrop of the Ganga.

The event will conclude on April 27 with a Grand Finale at Daksh Mandir at 6:00 PM. The closing ceremony will follow a specially curated Heritage Walk, designed to connect classical dance movements with the architectural and cultural significance of the region.

Speaking about the initiative, Madhavi Bhattacharya said, “Our mission is to ensure the soul of Kathak remains vibrant. By training at these iconic locations, we connect our dancers to the very heritage that birthed these art forms.”

With over 30 years of experience, her academy, Abstract Divine Dance, is known for its holistic approach to Kathak training—emphasizing both technical excellence and cultural preservation.
