Auli, a popular hill station in Chamoli district, witnessed fresh snowfall this week, marking the early onset of the winter season. The snowfall began late in the evening and continued until early morning, covering the slopes, pine forests, and rooftops in a thick layer of snow.
Local tourism operators reported an increase in hotel inquiries immediately after visuals of snowfall went viral on social media. "We have already started receiving winter bookings from Delhi, Punjab, and Rajasthan tourists," said a hotel manager in Auli.
The Uttarakhand Tourism Department has also issued safety guidelines for travelers, advising them to check road conditions and weather updates before visiting the region. BRO teams are working continuously to ensure smooth road connectivity in higher altitude areas.
With winter sports activities such as skiing expected to begin soon, Auli is set for a busy tourist season.
