Dehradun Traffic Police has issued an important traffic advisory for residents and tourists, informing that the New Expressway will remain closed on April 14, 2026. Commuters are advised to follow alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.

For Delhi, Haridwar & NCR-bound vehicles:
Vehicles coming from Dehradun, Mussoorie, Rishikesh, and hilly areas can travel via Rispana Bridge – Doiwala – Haridwar Road to reach Delhi, NCR, and Kumaon regions.
For Paonta Sahib, Himachal & Chandigarh:
Commuters can use the Premnagar – Herbertpur route to travel towards Paonta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh.
For Saharanpur, Chhutmalpur & Biharigarh:
Vehicles can take the Dharmawala – Behat – Chhutmalpur route to reach these destinations.
The city is expected to witness heavy traffic, especially on Asharodi to Shimla Bypass–GMS Road, due to diversions. Authorities have implemented a traffic management plan to ensure smoother movement.
Citizens are requested to stay updated through newspapers, social media, and FM channels and plan their journeys accordingly.
All major routes leading to hospitals, ISBT, Jolly Grant Airport, tourist areas, and hilly districts will remain open.
