The Government of Uttarakhand has unveiled an ambitious new tourism circuit project aimed at promoting spiritual, eco, and adventure tourism across the state. The announcement was made in Dehradun during a high-level tourism development meeting chaired by the Chief Minister.
The newly proposed circuit will connect prominent destinations including Kedarnath Temple, Badrinath Temple, Rishikesh, and Auli. Officials stated that the project aims to improve road connectivity, upgrade accommodation facilities, and promote homestays in remote villages.
Under this initiative, the government plans to invest significantly in infrastructure development, including better highways, digital tourist assistance centers, and enhanced safety measures. Special emphasis will be given to sustainable tourism practices to preserve Uttarakhand’s fragile Himalayan ecosystem.
Tourism stakeholders have welcomed the move, saying it will create thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities for local youth. Small business owners, hotel operators, and transport providers are expected to benefit greatly.
The state tourism department also announced promotional campaigns across major metropolitan cities to attract both domestic and international travelers during the upcoming travel season.
Experts believe this integrated tourism circuit could significantly increase tourist footfall in 2026, positioning Uttarakhand as one of India’s most sought-after travel destinations.
